Senior Boys High School - Blue Light

Blue Light Senior Boys

Empowering students to reach their full potential

Using their experience in delivering successful youth programmes in New Zealand for over 30 years, Blue Light is opening Blue Light Senior Boys High School in February 2018.

For our first year in 2018 we are enrolling Year 11 pupils (students currently in year 10) for our Wairakei Village campus. The school will grow to a full roll by 2020 catering to years 11 to 13.

A Boarding School where students and staff will live on-site Sunday through to Thursday, returning home for work experience or work based projects and sport in their local communities on Fridays.

The school will have a focus on Science, Mathematics, English and Applied Technology, following the N.Z. Curriculum and NCEA qualifications regime and students will undertake ‘Pathways’ programmes working in Industry, gaining NCEA credits and practical work experience. Students will complete their education with us with a Full drivers licence, Duke of Edinburgh Award and University Entrance.

Our school would best suit students who would thrive in our schooling environment of structure, outdoor education and practical technology learning, and who would normally not have this opportunity.

The school will be led by Mike Jackson who has 25 years’ experience of working in the education sector more than 10 years’ experience as a School Principal.

There is no cost for a young person to attend the Blue Light Senior Boys High School. Boarding, Fees, Uniform or Activities will be provided for all students 100% FREE.

We aim to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of pride and achievement in the young men who enrol at our school.
