Auckland Golfers Tee Up Support for Fiji Police Blue Light

The Mid-Week Social Slashers (MWSS), a large network of business professionals united by their love of golf, have once again demonstrated their commitment to charitable giving. Known for their ongoing support of various causes, the MWSS rallied at their recent golf event at Akarana Golf Club to assist Fiji Police Blue Light with a generous donation of sports equipment and gear.

The initiative was sparked by New Zealand Blue Light’s CEO, Brendon Crompton, who reached out to MWSS to see if they could lend their support. The response was overwhelming, with over $3,000 worth of sports equipment and gear donated on the day.

MWSS President Brett Turner expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, saying, “We already support the great work Blue Light does with kids in New Zealand, and it was nice on this occasion to think further afield and help kids in the South Pacific.”

The donated equipment will now be packed and shipped to Fiji in May, travelling in a sponsored container alongside school desks and books. The supplies will be distributed to children across Fiji, from Suva to Nadi, providing much-needed resources to support youth development. This initiative highlights the power of community-driven efforts and international goodwill, reinforcing the strong relationship between Blue Light and its supporters in New Zealand and beyond.
