Leadership Camps

Blue Light’s leadership camps are open to all year 10 and 11 students and are run in partnership with the NZ Defence Force Youth Development Unit.

This in-demand camp is being run in two locations this year:

• 100 Person Leadership Camp | Whenuapai Air Force Base | 30 Nov – 5 Dec 2026
• 50 Person Leadership Camp | Burnham Military Camp | 12 – 17 October 2026

Designed as a six-day, residential camp, young people learn key leadership qualities, including:

• Problem-solving
• Vision
• Self-awareness
• Resilience
• Confidence

Young people enjoy experiential recreational leadership-building activities designed to help them develop leadership skills and competencies.

Participants in the programme can earn up to 15 Level 1 & 2 NCEA credits.
